Employment Services

Across the East and West Kimberley, Job Pathways delivers Employment Support Services that meet people where they’re at. We provide tailored, hands-on support for individuals looking to find work, overcome barriers, and build the skills they need to not just get a job – but keep it. Along the way, participants can also give back to their communities through a range of flexible, meaningful activities.

Our services are shaped by the unique social and labour market realities of remote Australia and align with the Australian Government’s broader goal of boosting employment and breaking the cycle of welfare dependency.

Participants are backed by a dedicated team of Employment Service Officers and Post-Placement Support Officers who provide a personalised job pathways, taking into account your goals, ambitions and circumstances. Through the participation of work-like activities, we can support you to grow your skills and gain valuable experience to become work-ready.

Revive provides a central location for Kimberley communities to deposit a variety of recyclable items, making it more convenient and accessible for customers to recycle and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill. The Revive Store was created in 2017 to provide a valued secondhand goods store while creating employment opportunities. This program also encompasses being the East Kimberley provider for Western Australia’s Container Deposit Scheme, known as Containers for Change. Job Pathways partnership with Containers for Change includes operation of multiple permanent and mobile refund points, with regular visits to remote communities.

Job Pathways

Job Pathways, formerly East Kimberley Job Pathways, is a not-for-profit, community development organisation proudly owned in partnership by two highly respected Aboriginal organisations, Wunan Foundation and Wirrum Dawung, formerly KREAC.

Established in 2013, Job Pathways was created to deliver the Federal Government’s Community Development Program across the East Kimberley and Halls Creek/Tjurabalan regions, supporting individuals to build skills, gain employment, and strengthen their connection to community.

In 2017, we launched Revive in Kununurra, a social enterprise that provides valuable services to the community while creating meaningful employment opportunities for people experiencing long-term unemployment.

In 2020, the organisation experienced significant growth and diversification with the introduction of our Disability Services, Wayfinder, alongside the rollout of the Container Deposit Scheme across the East Kimberley and Halls Creek/Tjurabalan regions.

A major milestone was reached in 2023, when East Kimberley Job Pathways transitioned to Job Pathways and expanded into Broome and the West Kimberley, delivering Employment Services under Workforce Australia.

Today, Job Pathways continues to grow as a community-led organisation, delivering employment, disability, and social enterprise programs that create real opportunities and long-term outcomes for individuals, families, and communities across the Kimberley.
